Civilisation falls apart when the carers at an old people’s home suddenly abandon a group of elderly residents to fend for themselves and make their own rules. The result is both chilling and liberating in the face of societal collapse.
Oasis is both a dark comedy and an existential parable. It explores how people change when they are cast aside from the institutions and social masks of so-called civilisation, and how deep freedom reaches into a space where there is nothing left to lose – neither time, nor dignity, nor life.
